As your enemies attack you, counter their attacks with the press of a button. Seamlessly switch from one enemy to another during a fight. Using a freeflow combat system, the dark knight takes on as many as 12 enemies at one time. Eventually, you're going to need to fight your enemies in hand-to-hand combat. You also wield items such as grenades that freeze water, smoke pellets, and the classic Batarang. This mode lets him view hidden clues in the environment or observe his enemies through walls. Batman has a number of tools to help him in this game, including Detective Vision. This cape lets you quickly traverse from one side of the map to the other in minutes. In "Arkham City," he is outfitted with a new cape that lets him glide long distances. Batman has a number of tools to help him explore Gotham City, including his grapple gun. However, in "Arkham City," you now have a larger world to explore rather than the asylum from the first game.

When Strange deduces that Bruce Wayne is Batman, he has him arrested and thrown into prison. Hugo Strange has transformed a quarter of Gotham into a new prison. Batman is back in "Batman: Arkham City" for the Xbox 360.
